Ukraine’s Opposition Bloc to initiate commission to investigate shelling of Donbass

Alexander Vilkul also said that the Opposition Bloc would also initiate a field session of the Verkhovna Rada in Mariupol

KIEV, January 27. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Opposition Bloc said on Monday it will initiate an investigative commission in the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) to investigate the shelling of residential quarters in Donetsk and Mariupol and the tragedy in Volnovakha.

“There must be an official investigation. The “i”’s must be dotted and the “t”’s must be crossed. There must be an official conclusion and those responsible must be punished. Apsrt from that, the commission’s task will be to see to it that civilians receive necessary help,” Alexander Vilkul, a lawmakers with the Opposition Bloc, told the Ukraina television channel.

He also said that the Opposition Bloc would also initiate a field session of the Verkhovna Rada in Mariupol. “We should have a session on the frontline but not in Kiev premises, from where one might think that nothing is happening,” he said.
