Russia ready to combine work in Contact Group on Ukraine with other international formats

MOSCOW, January 26. /TASS/. Russia “is ready to participate in any formats that would contribute to the Ukrainian situation settlement,” Russian State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said on Monday.

According to him, “the drawbacks” of the ‘Geneva’ and ‘Normandy’ formats are that these formats “do not include representatives of Donetsk and Luhansk (self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics the south-east of Ukraine). “And the Contact Group has this advantage over them,” the diplomat said. “Apparently, the work of the Contact Group should be combined with international formats,” Karasin said.
