DONETSK, January 23. /TASS/. The attack pn a public transport stop in Donetsk that killed at least eight people and injured seventeen was conducted with the use of howitzers, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko said on Friday.
“It was not a terrorist act, but the stop was shelled with howitzers. A decision is being made to launch a criminal case against those who are involved in this,” Zakharchenko said.
On Thursday, January 22, spokesman for the Donetsk People’s Republic Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin refuted the previous version saying the stop was shelled with mortars.
“The shell attack was likely made from Yelenovka because the crews were near the Leninsky district [the district of Donetsk that came under attack],” Basurin said.
According to updated data, eight people died and 17 people were wounded, the Donetsk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry said.
