DONETSK, January 23. /TASS/. Fifteen civilians have died in shelling of east Ukraine's self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, local defense ministry spokesman Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.
“Civilian casualties over the past 24 hours left 15 dead and at least 18 wounded,” the Donetsk news agency quoted Basurin as saying.
Ukrainian security forces shelled Donetsk residential areas and suburbs some 15 times overnight and 34 times over the past 24 hours, he said, adding that the worst affected areas were the town of Gorlovka, the village of Spartak, and the city of Donetsk.
