MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. The progress made at a “Normandy format” meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine in Berlin on January 21 should be consolidated, head of the EU mission to Russia Vygaudas Usackas told a news conference on Thursday.

The sides of the Ukrainian conflict should start the implementation of their agreement as soon as possible.

“This, above all, is the peace regime establishment and removal of heavy weaponry in accordance with the Minsk memorandum,” the ambassador said. “It is very important to make sure that the sides that signed the Minsk agreement begin the implementation of their Berlin arrangements as soon as possible,” Usackas said.

He also said that the European Union hoped to normalise relations with Russia.
