KIEV, January 22. /TASS/. An armoured vehicle carrying Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council secretary Oleksandr Turchynov was hit by shelling on Wednesday near the embatted east Ukrainian city of Donetsk, a report said.

"His Cougar vehicle came under fire. A tyre was burst by shell fragments and had to be replaced in complete darkness, without using any light so as not to unmask a motorcade,” said Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to Ukraine's Interior Minister, on his Facebook page.

Neither Turchynov nor people travelling with him were hurt, Gerashchenko said.
