Five suspected terrorists presumably of Russian descent detained in southern France

According to local media reports, all the five detainees are from Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Chechnya

PARIS, January 20. /TASS/. Five individuals, presumably of Russian decent have been detained in the south of France on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts. The arrests were made in Beziers (Herault department), the city prosecutor Yvon Calvet said on Tuesday.

“No information about the detained persons is currently available,” the Russian embassy told TASS.

According to local media reports, all the five detainees are from Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Chechnya. They have been placed in custody. Police have conducted searches at their detention places.
