Francois Hollande confirms hostage-taking in Paris took away 4 human lives

The French president called this an anti-Semitic act

PARIS, January 9. /TASS/. A total of four people were killed in Paris on Friday as a result of hostage-taking, President Francois Hollande said on Friday in a televised address to the nation.

They were killed when the Islamic extremist Amedy Coulibaly seized hostages inside a kosher grocery store on the eastern outskirts of the city.

Hollande said the choice of the kosher store as a target was not at all accidental.

“This is an anti-Semitic act,” he said.

Police sources said earlier that five bodies had been found at the site of hostage taking in the grocery store in Porte de Vincennes, including the attacker’s body.
