Washington is in talks with a large number of countries over possible extradition of several dozen Guantanamo prisoners

WASHINGTON, December 31. /TASS/. Five inmates of the Guantanamo detention camp located in Cuba will be delivered to Kazakhstan, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.

Five prisoners, three of which are Yemeni citizens, two from Tunisia, have spent over ten years at the prison camp in Cuba.

Washington is in talks with a large number of countries over possible extradition of several dozen Guantanamo prisoners. Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that US government has put a stake primarily on Latin American leaders, hoping that they would follow the lead of Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez who approved the decision taken by his predecessor Jose Mujica, agreeing to take six former Guantanamo inmates to the country. They were transferred to Uruguay in early December.
