KIEV, December 29. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Monday a meeting within the so-called Normandy format will be held in Astana on January 15.

“My diplomatic year will start in Astana on January 15 where a meeting within the Normandy format will be held,” Poroshenko said.

Moscow has confirms January 15 as possible date for Normandy format meeting on Ukraine, a Russian diplomatic source told TASS on Monday.

The so-called Normandy format was established in June when Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko discussed the Ukrainian crisis on the sidelines of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the D-Day in Normandy, France.
