Ukraine prisoner swap date expected within days — Luhansk militia chief

The self-proclaimed Luhansk republic is ready to exchange 70 detained Ukrainian army servicemen

LUHANSK, December 25. /TASS/. The date for exchanging prisoners from both sides of the Ukraine conflict will be announced within days, assistant commander of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic militia Vitaly Kiselev said on Thursday.

Talks on an “all for all” numbers swap began long ago but central government authorities in Kiev have continually slowed progress, he said.

Luhansk had been ready for the swap three weeks ago "but some Ukrainian commanders have been stalling on preparations,” Kiselev said, adding that the republic is ready to exchange 70 detained Ukrainian army servicemen.
