KIEV, December 25. /TASS/. An unidentified attacker fired a hand grenade at lawmakers of Ukraine’s Verkhovna rada (parliament) who were standing in front of the entrance to a hotel in central Kiev, the press service of the Kiev police department said on Thursday.
“A young man threw an explosive device at members of Ukraine’s parliament. Experts are to establish whether it was a hand grenade RGD-5 or a flash bang grenade,” the press service said.
After the incident, the young men ran into a side-street and fired another grenade at policemen who were chasing him. One policeman was injured.
A criminal case was opened on charges of hooliganism.
