Office of Football Federation of Ukraine searched — Ukrainian Security Service

The FFU Executive Committee has previously passed a no-confidence motion against head Anatoly Konkov, describing his work in the organization as unsatisfactory

KIEV, December 24. /TASS/. The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has confirmed that searches were carried out in the office of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU), SSU head’s adviser Markiyan Lubkovsky said on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

“This is done within the criminal proceedings instituted under the Ukrainian Criminal Code articles of property embezzlement or seizure by way of power abuse, as well as over money laundering,” he said.

At present, the FFU head is Anatoly Konkov. The re-election of the Football Federation’s president is scheduled for March 2015.

The FFU Executive Committee has previously passed a no-confidence motion against Konkov, describing his work in the organization as unsatisfactory. Some organization members demanded to call an urgent FFU congress on this matter. Media reports later suggested that Konkov tendered resignation as the FFU president. However, Konkov has disproved this information.
