CAIRO, December 23. /TASS/. An export gas trunk pipeline was blasted in northern Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
The act of sabotage was staged on a gas pipe west of the city of Al-Arish, administrative centre of province Northern Sinai. A major fire broke out on the pipeline. Commandoes cordoned off the incident site. Gas pumping through the trunk pipeline is fully halted, news portal Alyoum Alsabea reported.
After the 2011 January revolution gas networks in the north of the peninsula, including those along which the blue fuel was delivered for export to Jordan and Israel came under terrorist attacks 27 times.
