KIEV, December 19. /TASS/. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Friday he wanted the Contact Group on Ukraine to be held in Minsk on December 21.
“I call for holding the meeting after the videoconference. It may be even held on Sunday. There are many prerequisites for this,” Steinmeier said after talks with the Ukrainian leaders.
“If the meeting takes place and if concrete agreements are reached, in my view, this will be a good result before the New Year and bring hope for the settlement,” he said.
The German Foreign Ministry said the talks in Kiev should focus on the implementation of the Minsk agreements and economic stabilization in Ukraine.
