DONETSK, December 15. /TASS/. Ukraine’s military delivered a strike on the Donetsk airport overnight but militias did not return fire, the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Monday.

Ukraine’s troops launched the attack from the side of the village of Peski near the airport, located some 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) north-west of Donetsk.

“There were provocations, but they were minor, and we defied them,” the press service said.

The ministry said despite the provocation, the “silence regime” declared on December 9 generally holds.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Sunday the ceasefire regime in eastern Ukraine made it possible for the Ukrainian military to reinforce their positions.
