LUHANSK, December 10. /TASS/. The curfew will be lifted in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic during the New Year celebration period, the republic’s Premier Gennady Tsypkalov said on Wednesday.

New Year celebration is not canceled in the republic, and festive events will certainly take place, the Novorossia press center cited him as saying.

“We had a civilized celebration of City Day, didn't we? I think we will celebrate the most favourite holiday for adults and children in the same civilized way. We are preparing gifts for children and festive events for all residents,” he said.

No decision has yet been made on how long the Christmas holiday will last in the republic. "The decision will be made by the People’s Council," he added.
