BERLIN, December 9. /TASS/. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday she doen't rule out a possibility of imposing new sanctions against Russia.

“They (the sanctions) will be imposed if it is inevitable,” Merkel said at the Christian Democratic Union congress.

Merkel said she did not intend to weaken pressure on Russia amid the crisis in Ukraine. “We won’t solve problems if we do not call things the way we see them,” she said.

Merkel ruled out resolution of the Ukrainian conflict by military means.
