Silence stage in Lugansk Republic to begin December 9

Plotnitsky said the document contains provisions for stabilising the situation in Donabass

LUGANSK, December 6. /TASS/. The “silence stage” in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) will come into force from December 9, the republic’s head Igor Plotnitsky told the government on Saturday.

“Ukraine’s representatives were here yesterday,” he said. “We have reached preliminary agreements. The signing of an agreement is due on the 9th.”

He said the document contains provisions for stabilising the situation in Donabass.

“The agreement will consist of several parts on ceasefire, pullout of heavy weaponry and some step-by-step items. Besides, the document will offer conditions under which either side would be able to open fire if the silence regime is violated.”.
