Ukrainian government extends emergency measures in energy sector for one month

KIEV, December 5. /TASS/. Ukraine’s government has extended for one month the regime of emergency measures in the energy sector of the country, Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin said on Friday.

He said that the government had taken a “principled decision on extending emergency measures throughout the following month.”

The Ukrainian cabinet of ministers imposed emergency measures in August 2014. The government was forced to resort to such measures after coal supplies from mines in Ukraine’s eastern regions had stopped due to the protracted conflict in those regions.
