DONETSK, December 5. /TASS/. The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic is holding permanent consultations with Ukraine within the Contact Group, the republic’s head Alexander Zakharchenko said on Friday.

At the same time, he said the consultations were counterproductive due to Kiev’s position. “The consultations are held, but we’re beating the air,” Zakharchenko said.

Many Ukrainian servicemen are not subordinated to Kiev. Thus, “some people talk about peace and others start shooting”, he said.

The consolidation of positions in Ukraine itself is indispensable for effective talks, Zakharchenko said.

“They should take one consolidated decision, which will allow us to talk with one group of persons and not to speak different languages with different people,” he said. “As soon as they take this (consolidated) decision, normal talks can be held,” Zakharchenko said.
