KIEV, November 26. /TASS/. The commander-in-chief of the allied NATO forces in Europe, General Philip Breedlove, has held meetings with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Kiev on Wednesday.
The meeting with Poroshenko is completed, the presidential staff said in Twitter. Breedlove is to appear at a news briefing due shortly.
Earlier in the day he held a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. “They discussed military-technical cooperation and support for implementing the reform of Ukraine’s defense sphere,” the prime minister’s press-service has said.
Yatsenyuk confirmed that Kiev was prepared to expand the format of interaction. Breedlove spoke highly of Ukrainian-US cooperation in the military sphere.
Earlier, in the course of the talks on creating a coalition in the Verkhovna Rada, the parties agreed that Ukraine would give up its non-aligned status and set course towards integration with NATO.
