Iran-Sextet talks prolonged till late June — UK Foreign Secretary

The principles of a future comprehensive agreement are to be finalized by the end of March, sources in delegations said

VIENNA, November 24. /TASS/. The negotiations between Iran and the Sextet of international negotiators (five permanent members of the UN Security Council — China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States — plus Germany), British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond told the media.

As sources in other delegations said, the principles of a future comprehensive agreement are to be finalized by the end of March.

The ministerial level meeting has lasted for about an hour on Monday. As sources in the delegation confirmed, it failed to produce a comprehensive document.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry also hold the second bilateral meeting in the framework of the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. The Russian and US top diplomats have held a coordination meeting. Then Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif joined them.

On Monday morning, Lavrov conferred with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi over Iran’s nuclear program.
