China hopes for consensus at Sextet’s talks with Iran

Beijing hopes that all parties will seek consent and proceed along the path of the gradual settlement of problems

BEIJING, November 19. /TASS/. China hopes for consensus at the talks between the international Sextet (five permanent UN member states and Germany) and Tehran on the settlement of the Iranian nuclear problem, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Wednesday.

“We are hoping for an early completion of negotiations and a comprehensive consensus,” he said. `”We are hoping that all parties will seek consent and proceed along the path of the gradual settlement of problems.”

“China hopes to play a constructive role in concluding a comprehensive agreement,” he said.

The sextet’s talks with Iran on its nuclear program began in Vienna on Tuesday.
