“Valery Muntinyan should be dismissed from his post of government authorized representative for cooperation with Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) in connection with the liquidation of this office,” the Ukrainian government said in a decree published on its portal on Friday.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko recalled his representative Anatoly Dron from the CIS. Belarus described the move “purely technical.”
“It is a purely technical decision. Belarus, which is currently presiding over CIS, interacts with the Ukrainian office at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk,” Dmitry Mironchik, the press secretary of Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, said.
