MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Russia’s Federation Council (upper house) chairperson Valentina Matviyenko said the West had spent $5 billion for destabilization in Ukraine.
According to experts, “the Western friends” spent this funding against the Ukrainian legitimate power, Matviyenko said.
“Information influence made it possible to impose strange cultural patterns and distort reality to replace it by forgeries and phantoms, and to brainwash in simple terms,” she said.
Thus, it is necessary “to know to effectively use information technology for counteracting the evil and confronting those who is trying to hide the truth”, Matviyenko said.
“The Ukrainian crisis proved that information technology, including the Internet and social networks, could create false reality and transform normal people’s mind for the benefit of certain politicians,” she said.
