LUHANSK, November 13. /TASS/. Head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitsky has not made any statement on the referendum for joining Russia, chairman of the People’s Council Alexey Karyakin said on Thursday.
Commenting on Plotnitsky’s allegedly post on Facebook, Karyakin said, “He (Plotnitsky) has no Facebook account. This is all made up.”
Earlier, several media reported that on Facebook Plotnitsky had announced his intention to submit a resolution on preparations for the referendum for joining Russia.
Karyakin said, “To start with, firstly Russia should say it recognizes the LPR as a republic. Secondly it should say it is ready to accept the LPR.” “Then we should conduct the referendum,” he said.
