China, US agree early-warning protocol on major military moves

Principles were also laid down for action in the event of sea or air incidents, Chinese President Xi Jinping said

BEIJING, November 12. /TASS/. Defense agencies of China and the United States have agreed on procedures to alert each other about major military operations, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the meeting with his US counterpart Barack Obama in the Chinese capital on Wednesday.

Principles were also laid down for action in the event of sea or air incidents, he said.

“The military of both states should intensify mutual exchanges, build mutual trust and broaden cooperation under these agreements,” the Chinese president said, calling for a “new type of military relations” between the two powers.
