Russia to send seventh aid convoy to east Ukraine

All the cargoes to be carried to Donetsk and Luhansk are gathered in the Rostov region

NOGINSK /Moscow Region/, November 12. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry is forming the seventh humanitarian aid convoy to send to Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Deputy Emergencies Minister Vladimir Stepanov said on Wednesday.

All the cargoes to be carried to Donetsk and Luhansk are gathered in the Rostov region. They are delivered from various Russian regions. Humanitarian aid is provided in cooperation with Russian regions, he said.

Cargoes are also carried by trucks from the Noginsk-based rescue center, located near Moscow. About ten vehicles have left for the Rostov region this Wednesday.

The convoy will be formed in the region. As soon as cargoes are collected, the convoy will leave for east Ukraine, Stepanov said.

Earlier, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said all the procedures to send the convoy were discussed with the International Red Cross and the Ukrainian side. “We follow all the procedures,” he said.

It will be the seventh humanitarian convoy. The Russian Emergencies Ministry said six convoys had delivered more than 8,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes food products, medicines, clothes, fuel, building materials and other necessities to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions since August 23 to November 4.
