ISLAMABAD, November 11. /TASS/. Militants attacked the checkpoint of the governmental forces in the Orakzai Agency (an administrative-territorial division unit) in the tribal area in southwestern Pakistan. The Dawn online newspaper reports 15 assaulters were killed and some more injured.
According to available information, the incident happened in Shirin Dara area. The attack was repulsed, however, two Pakistani soldiers were killed and six more were heavily injured in the firefight with the militants.
The recent assaults on checkpoints are considered to be connected particularly with the step-up of such militant groups as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Lashkar-e-Islam in other areas of the tribal region after successful forcing them out of the territory of North Waziristan and Khyber areas following large scale military operations Zarb-e-Azb ("sharp and cutting strike"), Khyber 1 and Khyber 2.
