APEC summit organisers say surprised at media reports about evacuation of press centre

BEIJING, November 8. /TASS/. Press centre of the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) in Beijing is working normally, no evacuation of reporters has been organised due to reported smoke, the press centre said on Saturday.

“We are surprised some media have published information about evacuation,” the press centre’s representative said.

Some media have published information about smoke in a technical facility, saying reporters were evacuated from the press centre.

APEC’s summit id due in Beijing on November 10-11. Its participants will have two working meetings and a breakfast. On Saturday, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will have a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss preparations for the summit.
