UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed regret with militias’ plans to hold their own elections in contravention of the Constitution and national legislation, he said.
Dujarric called on the parties to comply with the Minsk agreements and work to settle the conflict by peaceful means.The Secretary-General emphasises the fundamental importance of restoring stability and ensuring Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, he said.
On October 28, Ban Ki-moon lauded the elections to Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament).
He said the elections would be an important step towards stability, reforms, restoration and reunification of the country.
