TOKYO, October 27. /TASS/. A man who arrived in Tokyo from Liberia has been hospitalised in Japan on suspicion of having contracted the deadly Ebola virus, the Japanese health ministry said on Monday.

Having worked for two months in Liberia as a reporter, the 45-year-old man arrived at Tokyo International Airport early on Monday after changing flights in Belgium and the United Kingdom. He complained of high temperature upon arrival and was immediately isolated in a Tokyo hospital. The results of his Ebola tests are due on Tuesday morning.

According to the World Health Organization, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has killed over 4,900 people, mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
