No election to Ukrainian Rada in self-proclaimed Donetsk Republic

DONETSK, October 24. /TASS/. Head of the Central Election Commission of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Roman Lyagin has declared on Friday that there will be no election to the Ukrainian Rada on the territory of the DNR on Sunday.

"DNR has no diplomatic relations with the state of Ukraine. We have received no instructions on the organization. Therefore, no election to the Ukrainian parliament can be held on the DNR territory," Lyagin told a news conference on Friday.

Earlier in the day, DNR First vice-premier Andrey Purgin said that no polling stations would be opened on the DNR territory. The population who intend to vote will have no chance to cast their ballot papers, Purgin said.

The election to the Ukrainian Rada will be held in Ukraine on October 26.
