KIEV, October 21. /TASS/. Chances are high that Ebola will reach Ukraine with catastrophic consequences from the 60% fatality rate, acting Health Minister Vasily Lazorishinets said after the vessel Western Copenhagen was banned from entering Black Sea ports on suspicion of having a crewmember infected with the virus.
The Ukrainian authorities have already asked the World Health Organization to provide protective clothing in advance.
Health ministry officials are working closely with crews of aircraft, border guards and personnel of other services to prevent the virus responsible for killing more than 4,500 in the west African states of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone from getting into Ukraine.
