Japan promises Ukraine 7 million dollars in aid to repair infrastructures

TOKYO, October 18. /TASS/. Japan is prepared to extend to Ukraine an extra 7 million dollars in aid for repairing damaged infrastructures in the east of the country and to purchase medical equipment. Japan’s central television channel NHK reports that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzho Abe voiced the proposal at a meeting with Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko at the summit in Milan on Friday.

“Japan is systematically supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” Abe told Poroshenko. “In cooperation with the other G7 countries we would like to support the stability of Ukraine.”

Earlier, Japan declared it would give Kiev 1.52 billion dollars in aid. The Japanese prime minister declared the aid package during his speech at the UN General Assembly session on September 25.
