MILAN, October 17 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that a law on the special status of Ukraine’s Donbas region signed by Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko was a “step in the right direction.”
"I know the reaction and assessments given by representatives of Novorossiya. The document may not be ideal but it is a step in the right direction. We hope that it will also be used for finding the final solution to security problems,” Putin said commenting on the law on Donbas special status.
Earlier on Friday, the representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic refused to recognize the document calling it an “imitation of the Minsk agreements.
