Plotnitsky tops public organization’s candidate list for LPR parliamentary elections

Elections of the LPR’s head and People’s Council lawmakers will be held November 2

LUHANSK, October 14. /TASS/. Self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) head Igor Plotnitsky has topped the list of 78 candidates from the Mir Luganshchine (Peace to Luhansk Region) public organization for elections to the LPR’s parliament, the People’s Council.

LPR Prime Minister Gennady Tsypkalov is No. 2 in the list, followed by LPR Supreme Council chairman Alexey Karyakin.

Elections of the LPR’s head and People’s Council lawmakers will be held November 2.

In line with the law on elections to the People’s Council, its 50 deputies are elected for four years. Republican lists of candidates may be nominated by public organizations (movements).

In line with the legislation of the LPR, a citizen of the LPR at least 30 years old, who has permanently resided in the republic for at least 10 years, can be elected as the LPR head.
