KIEV, October 10. /TASS/. "First, second and third lines of defence" are being built in the areas of the Donetsk region controlled by the forces loyal to the Kiev government and "a powerful barrier" is being created there "to obstruct the advances of terrorists and saboteurs who can frustrate Ukrainians' peaceful life," President Pyotr Poroshenko said on Friday in the city of Severodvinsk in the East-Ukrainian Luhansk region.
He stressed the importance of creating all the essential conditions for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to get through the cold months of 2014/2015 and called for coordinating the activities of the military, the local authorities, and the government.
As Poroshenko conferred with local officials and administrators appointed by the Kiev government, he introduced the new head of the Luhansk region administration, Gennady Moskal, to the gathering.
He also promised that the Kiev authorities would ensure the payment of wages and pensions "in the area where the Ukrainian state power is present.
