Ukrainian president signs lustration law

KIEV, October 9. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Thursday signed a lustration law, the presidential website said.

The law was passed by Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada on September 16.

The law establishes legal and organizational framework for checking state servants and officials, as well as local self-governments in order “to restore trust in the authorities and create conditions for building a new system of power bodies in line with European standards.
