Spain’s Constitutional Court suspends law on polls in Catalonia

This should terminate preparations for the poll

MADRID, September 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Spain’s Constitutional Court on Monday suspended a law on non-referendum public polls in Catalonia and a decree authorising a poll on the region’s sovereignty.

Under Spanish laws, this should terminate preparations for the poll in Catalonia.

Catalan Prime Minister Artur Mas said earlier in the day that he would be prepared to present his arguments in court to tip the balance in favour of the poll in Catalonia.
