UNITED NATIONS, September 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem assured his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Saturday that Damascus was ready to join constructive forces in the fight against the Islamic State, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said.
“Muallem said they were ready to cooperate in the fight against ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) with everyone who fights terrorists and adheres to a constructive position,” Gatilov said.
“Their position, and they have already said so officially, is that everything that is happening there is not coordinated with them,” he added.
