Zyuganov is currently in China on a working visit.
“Even amid the sanctions imposed on us China shows competence, consistency and support,” he said.“Our interaction has assumed a strategic nature. The development of BRICS [Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa] and the SCO [Shanghai Cooperation Organisation] gives big advantages. We should intensify efforts in this direction. We discussed these issues and searched for their solution at the meeting with [Chinese President] Xi Jinping and others,” Zyuganov said.
“Xi Jinping stressed that this year alone he has met with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin four times and valued these contacts,” he added.
Zyuganov also visited China’s National Development and Reform Commission, held talks with the head of the People’s Bank of China and met with the staff of the Russian Embassy in Beijing.
