Exchange of captives in Ukraine scheduled for Friday cancelled

DONETSK, September 26. /ITAR-TASS/. A new exchange of prisoners of war scheduled for Friday will not take place, a senior official of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said.

“There will be no exchange. The Ukrainian side has not provided the lists (of captives to be exchanged),” Andrey Purgin said.

The exchange of POWs is one of the key conditions agreed to at a meeting of the trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine held in Minsk on September 5.

Since then, four exchanges have taken place, with the sides swapping 37 for 37, 70 for 70, 38 for 38, and 28 for 28 people.
