MOSCOW, September 25. /ITAR-TASS/. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is the only organization in the Euro-Atlantic region that takes an active part in the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, president of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) Igor Ivanov said on Thursday.
“Of course, the Ukraine topic was discussed. All participants in the meeting noted the OSCE positive role at different stages of the current crisis,” Ivanov said.
“Unfortunately, among the existing multilateral mechanisms in the Euro-Atlantic region, the OSCE is the only organization that took an active part in searching for the political settlement,” he said.
The Contract Group on Ukraine also comprising the OSCE continues cooperation in searching for ways to stabilize the situation. “This proves once more that the organization has the big potential,” Ivanov said.
