KIEV, September 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine is not planning to acknowledge the elections on the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) due in early November, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Thursday.

“The elections, announced by DPR and LPR with violation of election rights and the Ukrainian legislation will not be acknowledged by Ukraine, the world and I hope, Russia,” Poroshenko said at a news conference on the country’s development strategy for up to 2020.

The Supreme Council of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic on Wednesday scheduled the elections of the head and parliament of the republic for November 2.

The neighboring self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic approved Thursday law governing parliamentary and presidential elections, but has not fixed the date yet. The republic’s leadership said earlier that the elections could be held simultaneously with the DPR.

DPR’s First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin said early elections to the Ukrainian parliament, scheduled for October 26, will not be held on the territory of the self-proclaimed republic.
