Prisoner swap in Ukraine postponed to Friday

DONETSK, September 25. /ITAR-TASS/. An exchange of prisoners of war (POW) between militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Ukrainian military on the basis of '60 for 60' has been postponed till Friday, the DPR representative in charge of refugees and POWs told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.

“No transfer will take place today,” she said. “It is postponed presumably till Friday on the same basis ‘60 for 60’. But the problem is that the Ukrainian side has not handed us their lists of prisoners.”

A prisoner swap has become a key item in the accords reached by the Contact Group on Ukraine in the Belarusian capital Minsk on September 5. Since then, the sides have exchanged prisoners four times: 37 for 37, 70 for 70, 38 for 38 and 28 for 28.
