Lithuania accuses Russia of detaining ship under Lithuanian colors in neutral waters

The Juros Vilkas has been convoyed to the sea port of Murmansk for an investigation

VILNIUS, September 19. /ITAR-TASS/. The Fisheries Service under the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture claims that the Juros Vilkas fishing ship, which sails under Lithuanian colors, has been detained by Russian border guards in neutral waters.

Actually, the ship did cross into the Russian territorial waters, but it had been staying there for approximately one hour only, the Lithuanian fisheries service said. It could not say exactly how many minutes the ship had been staying in the Russian territorial waters, citing an hour-long interval between the arrival of information about coordinates of ships at sea.

The crew of the detained ship numbers 23 sailors, including three Lithuanian citizens.

The Juros Vilkas, detained by border guards of the Murmansk department of the Russian Federal Security Service presumably with an illegal cargo of fish caught in the Russian territorial waters, has been convoyed to the sea port of Murmansk for an investigation.
