“Tomorrow I am flying to Minsk again with the OSCE group,” the UNIAN news agency quotes Kuchma as saying at a news briefing for journalists in Dnepropetrovsk. “There are no easy talks ahead for us. A document stating what is to be done to implement the already adopted protocol is to be approved,” he said.
ITAR-TASS has no confirmation of this report from alternative sources.
Previously the contact group on Ukraine gathered in Minsk on September 5. It agreed a protocol on immediate steps to be taken, such as ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners of war between Kiev’s forces and the militias of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
Delegates from the authorities in Kiev, the south-eastern regions of Ukraine, the OSCE and Russia took part in the talks.
