Russian humanitarian convoy ready to go to southeast of Ukraine

MOSCOW, September 12. /ITAR-TASS/. A truck convoy with humanitarian supplies for Ukraine will move to the southeast of Ukraine after coordinating the mission with the Ukrainian side, spokesman for the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations Alexander Drobyshevsky told ITAR-TASS Friday.

"A trucks convoy with humanitarian supplies for residents of the southeast of Ukraine is ready to go; the trucks have been loaded. At present, they are staying in Donetsk on the territory of the Russian Rostov region; its departure is being negotiated with the Ukrainian side. As soon as the permission is received the convoy will cross the Russo-Ukrainian border at the Donetsk-Izvarino border check point," Drobyshevsky said.

According to Deputy EMERCOM minister Vladimir Stepanov, an overall load is 2,000 tons. Apart from the foodstuffs the relief supplies include water purification facilities, power generators and other essentials.

Sources from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics told ITAR-TASS that the Russian humanitarian convoy might leave the Rostov region early on September 13.
